Oyas (from ‘ollas’, Spanish for pots or pans) are porous, ceramic vessels used for irrigating your plants. They come in two varieties: planter Oyas that stick out of the soil and Oyas intended to be buried below the surface of the soil.

Oyas water your plants naturally, distributing the water gradually according to the hydration of the soil, thus reducing water waste and watering time. They can be used in the garden, on your balcony or terrace, or even to irrigate your indoor plants.

Using an Oya optimises the watering process, reducing your water consumption by up to 70%! Studies have found that if you use an Oya you will have to tend to your plants’ watering needs three times less frequently.

The surface area irrigated by a single Oya depends on its size. Small Oyas can irrigate a plant pot with a diameter of 30 cm. Medium Oyas can irrigate a pot with a 45 cm diameter. The closer the plant is to the Oya the more it benefits from the irrigation.

Note concerning frost :

The planter models (natural, enamelled, or decorated) might be damaged by the alternance of frost/defrost, so it is advised to keep them indoors during winter.
