"you cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. what you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make." jane goodall.

i’ve always been in love with food, but until 8 years ago, when i changed to a plant-based diet, i had never given much thought to what or whom i was eating. becoming a vegan gave me a window on to the world of industrial farming and animal production - and the view was not pleasant.  once you are exposed to the truth, you can’t unknow it.
but here’s another truth to keep in mind : eating animal-free is empowering and elating. in so many senses, eating animals is a burden. having shrugged that off, i literally walk with a lighter step. activism is often based on negatives : what we are against. of course, there is that element: i am opposed to the suffering caused by rearing animals.
but i also fell in love with the vegan lifestyle. i enjoy sharing the beauty, the pleasure and the fun of celebrating life through cruelty-free products. this must be one of the most gratifying methods of activism out there.
